There's something about mixing up a fancy beverage that makes even the simplest of summer days a little more special. Whether I'm in the kitchen cooking or firing up the grill, I just love to put on some music and pour myself a frosty beverage.
You'll love each recipe in our Summer Sangria series this year, too, whether you're having neighbors over for a BBQ or staying in for a game night with the family.
In a glass or stainless steel bowl, muddle:
1 1/2 pints raspberries
1/4 cup granulated sugar (may sub out agave or other sweetener)
1 Tbsp fresh lemon juice
Stir in 2 drops Basil Vitality essential oil and 5 drops Lemon Vitality essential oil
In a separate glass or stainless steel bowl, combine:
Add 1 1/2 pints raspberries
1/2 lb hulled strawberries
1 lemon, sliced into wheels
1/4 cup basil leaves or to taste
Set out chilled bottles or individual cans of white grape juice and plain or flavored club sodas. Stick with tart or semi-sweet mixers or you'll end up with too much of a sweet thing.
In glasses, add 1/4 cup each of ice, the muddled mixture, and the fruit mixture. Each guest will now have the opportunity to add in their choice of mixer!
We recommend serving this bright and bubbly sangria in mason jars or assorted, mismatched vintage or pretty Depression glasses.
Remember - stainless steel or paper straws only! Our essential oils are so pure, they eat up inorganic materials such as plastic straws and cups. Learn more about ingesting essential oils safely in our article about it here.
