Are your dishes actually clean?

Updated: Jan 17

What is in that bright blue dish soap you've been using? What about that one that says it's "natural" or "environmentally friendly" on the front...but has ingredients that say otherwise?

Fragrance and synthetic or poorly-sourced ingredients can have a major impact on how our bodies feel - from our hormones to general aches and pains. It's time to ditch the toxic dish soap!

Our bodies absorb 60% of what we put on our skin, and that includes our dish soap, especially when our hands are basically soaking in the water while we wash and then we eat off the plates we've just had soaking in toxic ingredients. You can effectively clean your dishes without harsh chemicals, dyes, or synthetics.

If you haven't seen or heard about Thieves Dish Soap, do yourself and your family a favor and try it! The ingredients match up with truly clean standards. It lasts forever; it's concentrated, so you only need a tiny bit at a time.

Pro Tip: Turn one bottle into three by taking one-third of the concentrated soap and pour it into an empty Thieves Dish Soap squeeze bottle (or 12 ounce glass or stainless steel soap dispenser). Fill the rest with distilled water and shake well to combine. You still will only need a small amount to get your dishes totally clean!

Bonus Tip: Washing your dishes in a basin allows you to water your plants with the leftover water. The essential oils in the dish soap are great for healthy plants!

Be aware that this dish soap isn't going to bubble up like other soaps you may be used to, but you'll also notice that the water and dishes feel cleaner thanks to the natural surfactants than when you have washed them with other dish never fear, suds do not actually equal clean!

Surfactants: Naturally derived from glucose, palm trees, and coconuts. They act as cleansing and foaming agents, and they also act as stabilizers to make sure you don't get an overload of bubbles as you wash your dishes. Ours are naturally derived, so they're biodegradable and have been tested and proven to be non-irritants to your skin. Our formula pairs the surfactants with natural salts because it has been proven that these two ingredients work synergistically to boost cleaning properties. Minerals (sodium sesquicarbonate): They balance the pH in the formula, which means that no preservatives are needed. The minerals are naturally derived and extracted from trona ore, a mineral that is found near the Green River area. Jade Lemon essential oil: Its wonderful, zesty fragrance is clean and inviting. Bergamot essential oil: The aroma is uplifting yet relaxing, and is popular for its cleansing properties. Thieves essential oil blend: Thieves is a powerful combination of Clove, Lemon, Cinnamon, Eucalyptus Radiata, and Rosemary essential oils for an aromatic blend that fills any space with a rich, spicy aroma. It includes the naturally occurring constituents trans cinnamaldehyde, limonene (the natural kind, not the synthetic version that can have negative effects on the body), and eucalyptol. It's totes famous for its cleansing properties as well as its ability to neutralize and purify odors.
